14 East published for the first time two years ago. Since then our staff has grown, our work has expanded and our focus on transparency, truth and storytelling has never wavered.

We’ve covered campus controversies and profiled Chicagoans making a difference. We’ve become a partner of City Bureau, bringing #PublicNewsroom to DePaul. We’ve reported from across the nation, producing a multimedia package that captured the hearts, minds and stories of students taking a stand. We’ve won awards, built relationships and moved into our very own newsroom.

After two years, we have a lot to celebrate and none of it would have been possible without our roommates, professors, faculty, community members and, most importantly, our readers.

Our second year is as much of your accomplishment, our 14 East Friends, as it is our’s.
